South African Hunting trip for Daddy & Bubba. Day 6 through 10.

Day 6: John (0), Bret (3)
5 animals harvested today for the boys! That's a total of 30 animals in 6 days between all 5 guys.... WOW! Ryker got a cull Impala and Chris got a Bushbuck (I guess this is really big but I think it's ugly). The jet lag, hiking and long days are wearing my little man out. He was dragging pretty bad today I guess and not feeling well from being dehydrated. Still having the greatest time and loving the food as well.
Hanging out in the boma waiting for dinner.
Day 7: John (1), Bret (0)
2 animals harvested today for all the guys. Ryker got a Duiker. I think they are too cute and little to shoot but its part of the package.
Day 8: John (0), Bret (3)
Well the trip is starting to wind down they harvested a total of 4 animals today. Chris got the dreaded Baboon. My foot is down and it is NOT going in the living room. It can go in the basement or reloading room. That damn thing would give me nightmares. Both Chris and Ryker were stoked to get one. Chris and Ryker's package is filled..... although they might have an add on. Also Ryker tried liver and thought it was okay.
Ryker and their tracker Ace
Chase and Ryker played a lot of checker in the boma.
Day 9: John (0), Bret (1)
Well Ryker harvested the animal he really wanted from South Africa! One shot and the zebra was down. What a beautiful animal. It kind of makes me sad because it's so gorgeous but the animals are over populated there. Plus all these animals feed a lot of people and they also donate to people in need in their country. 2 animals was harvested today between them all.
Andrew and Ryker
Thinking about shooting an animal off the porch.
They got to go spot lighting before dinner. It's crazy to me how different hunting is there. Things that are illegal here are not over there.
They also got to go have dinner at the owner Barry's house which I guess is not something they always do for their guests. Ryker was so impressed they had a swimming pool in the middle of their house.
Day 10: John (1), Bret (0)
My sweet little man had a complete melt down this morning in South Africa. He broke down crying telling Dad he misses his Mama really bad. Poor little guy I feel so bad. He has never been away for me for any long amount of time and I guess it's really getting to him. I missed them so much. They have had the time of their lives.
The boma
Thank you Frontier Safaris for an amazing experience!
28:33 flight time to home
13:35 layovers
= 42:08 total hours to get home
My boys are world travelers now with a total of
26,648 total miles for this trip alone.

The Haight's made these cute signs for the boys!
Between the jet lag and the African tick bite fever Chris was a bit miserable when he came home. Ryker on the other hand was going strong but he was able to sleep on most of the flights coming home.

4 years old?

Dear Ryker, How in the world are you 4 years old? I remember your Daddy handing me this tiny precious lovie like it was yesterday. I don't care how old or big you get you will ALWAYS be my baby, my first born that taught me so much. I never knew true, pure, deep love until I had you! This has been a BIG year for you.... you are FINALLY "poop" potty trained. Oh my Ryker I cannot believe how INCREDIBLY hard you were to potty train. Although we still have some pee accidents all in all you do great, I think you are just to on the go to take the time out from playing. You started preschool and you love it! Your best friends are Cash and Beckham (Bear). Some mornings you do not want to go and whine that you want me to go with you but you always go and come back home with the biggest smile and tell me how much fun you had. You are learning so much and it amazes me, I will listen and watch you play or watch a tv cartoon and you can usually answer all the questions correctl...

Happy MOTHER'S Day!

I LOVE Mother's Day. I love being a Mommy.... Ryker is truly the BEST thing that has ever happened to me and I am so extremely blessed that he is my baby! I woke up to Ryker saying "Happy Mom" and Chris and Ryker making me breakfast. I got a hand made card from Chris and Ryker and it melted my heart and made me cry like a baby. Chris and I talked before Mother's day and I asked him not to get me any gifts which he was disappointed in but we are in the process for buying a toy hauler and I wanted to make sure that was cut and dried before spending any money. Chris wanted to get me and promised me a seat to go on the back of my four-wheeler.... he spoils me! I love my two lovies so very much! Thank you for making my day so incredibly SPECIAL! I cherish every moment I have with the two men in my life! I've been called a lot of things in my life, but my favorite of all is Mommy! As Dora and I went the cemetery yesterday to decorate Mom's and Grandma'...

My poor baby boy

Ryker had a few bumps on his back that I noticed on Sunday. I figured it was his sensitive skin from us out camping and from me not putting an lotion on him. I hate to put lotion on him when we are camping because I feel like all the dust sticks to him and makes him even more dirty. Anyways on Monday he was so whiny and running a fever so we packed up and came home. Ryker struggled with the fever all night M onday and even actually slept with Chris and I which has never happened. I figured the fever was from two more of his teeth coming through. Anyway Tuesday when he woke up Ryker was normal again happy as can be so we went about our day. Well Wednesday I needed to go to work so I packed Ryker up to take him to Grandma Irene and I was telling her about these bumps on his legs that you could feel but barley see and she said her other granddaughter gets bumps all the time and it's no big deal. She agreed it was probable from camping and his sensitive skin. When Chris brought ...
