To start off Ryker and Chris father son epic adventure it took-
27:21 flight time to South Africa
13:05 layovers
= 40:26 hours travel total
13,324 miles one way
Poor Ryker got sick on the long flight to Qatar. They don't know if it was the food or turbulence... probably both. He has flown across the US before with no problem. The flight attendant gave him some dramamine and let him lay out on the row and he got some much needed sleep.
Day 1: John (4), Bret (3)
Between all 5 of them they have harvested 9 animals in one day! My boy is so thrilled to have taken down a massive warthog with one kill shot (they are so ugly) and the hubs got his Kudu.
Ryker got his warthog. He was so EXCITED to call and tell me all about it.

Chris got his Kudu

Ryker is wore out and so tired. Chris said they hiked really far today.
Day 2: John (2), Bret (1)
This day was windy for the boys but they still harvested 4 animals between them all! Chris got his impala. Ryker didn't feel comfortable taking the shot on a blesbuck because the wind was so bad. I am so happy Ryker is turning into such a great hunter. He is making wise decisions on whether or not he can hit it and kill it. We don't shoot to miss!
Some photos of "camp". I consider it more like a resort. They have the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
Day 3: John (1), Bret (1)
Another windy day for the boys. Luckily the weather is good for the rest of the time. Between all of them 3 animals were harvested today. Ryker got a cull Blesbuck. First and only shot and it went down. Chris missed a baboon..... I am not sad about that. He wants it mounted in my living room. Chris said it's like hunting coyotes they are fast. He shot at it and thought he got it but it jumped down a 40 ft cliff. Ryker has informed me he wants to stay forever because the food is so good.
Day 4: John (1), Bret (1)
4 animals harvested today for the group. Chris took down his blue Wildebeest and bull Blesbuck. What an amazing experience.
Day 5: John (1), Bret (2)
Chris and his guide Andrew5 total down today. Chris said there was bullets slinging everywhere. Ryker was excited to go with Chase this time. Chris shot his Gemsbuck and Spring buck. What beautiful animals! Today was their longest day. They had to travel far to hunt these species.
They use baboon sticks for everything around their camp.
