We had a weekend of all sorts of emotions! Our weekend started off leaving Friday for the MX 215 track in North Salt Lake for another summer cross race. We made it Lakepoint were we had a tire blow off the tread so we had to change that (It should have been a sign to go back home). Next we got to the races and figured out our generator would not work and if anyone knows me that was not going to work. I am always way too HOT! So Vern had to bring up my sister's generator for us to use (thanks again for saving me!). In the mean time of having the windows all open to cool off until the generator arrived we let a million little baby grasshoppers in. I am not scared of bugs but when there are that many it was freaking me out!
Saturday came and Ryker had a blast playing in the dirt with his buddies. Chris took 1st place in the first moto and 2nd place in the second moto giving him 2nd place for the day!
Around 10:30 p.m. that night I got a call from my Dad telling me my Grandma McCabe was fading fast and that the nurse at Harmony said she would not make it through the night. I wanted to be there with my family so I went straight from the track to my Aunt Katie's house to be there leaving my boy sleeping and Chris to watch him. Grandma McCabe passed away at around 1:42 a.m. on July 18th with all of us by her side. She was such an amazing strong woman and such an inspiration to me and my family. I am so grateful that she is no longer in pain and feeling "rotten" anymore. I know she is still with us and will always be our angel watching over us! RIP Grandma!
After everything was settled and Grandma was taken away we all left and I headed back into Salt Lake making it there at about 4:30 a.m. (What a night!)
Chris was concerned about racing on Sunday and wanted us to go home to be with family but everyone was just resting and recouping after a horrible night that there was nothing we could do anyways. So I convinced Chris to race on Sunday since we had already paid for it. He took 2nd in the first moto and 1st in the second moto giving him 1st place for the day! WOOT WOOT!
Our GREAT friends Vern and Krista's little boy Jordan broke his fibula and tibula in his leg on the first moto on Sunday. Poor little guy was such a trooper and so brave. As Vern and Krista took him to Primary's we packed up their trailer, took ours home and came back in to get their trailer and take it home. They had enough to deal with that we did what we could to help. Jordan is scheduled to get his cast on Wednesday after the swelling goes down. We pray he recovers fast because he is already wanting to race again! I told ya he was brave!

So as you can read we had a weekend of loss, saddness, fear, GREAT racing, hurt, pain, fun, etc. a little of every emotion!
