Ryker's 12 month check-up

We took Ryker to his 12 month check-up yesterday. He had to have 4 shots two in each leg (one was his second round of the flu shot) and he was not happy about that but usually he would be a bear the rest of the night and he was playful as ever which thrilled us.
Here are his stats from the visit...
17 pounds 12 ounces- 2nd to 3rd% (He is still a little guy but he eats like crazy and he is ALWAYS on the move so the doctor is not concerned. Plus he does always gain but not a fast rate!)
29 1/2" in length (My boy is going to be tall and skinny like his daddy)
Things Ryker does, likes, dislikes etc. at 12 months:
- He is crawling everywhere!
- Pulls himself to stand on everything.
- Walks everywhere as long as he has something to hold onto.
- He loves to have any kids around to play with.
- Says “Mama”, “Dada” and we swear he says hi and baby sometimes.
- Eats two stage 2 jars or 1 stage 3 and 1 stage 2 with every meal.
- Loves puff, brownie bites, bread, crackers and chips for snacks!
- He is OBSESSED with refried beans and cannot get enough of them.
- We are still struggling with the sippy cup but hopefully he will pick that up someday.
- Does not nap very well throughout the day maybe two ½ hour to 45 minute naps.
- Goes to bed GREAT in his own crib but some nights still wakes up about 4:30 a.m. for a bottle. Sleeps from around 8:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. with that occasional feeding.
- Is just fitting into his 12 month clothes but the pants are still a little big around the waist.
- Loves to cuddle when he is tired or sick but that is the only time.
- Still has to watch cartoons to eat any meal to entertain him preferably “Yo Gabba Gabba: (I know I know it’s bad but that is the only way we can get him to eat his whole meal without fussing).
- He gets so sad when anyone leaves the house.
- Ryker can be held or played with by anyone which is a little scary because he will go to a complete stranger. He is not shy whatsoever!
- Loves to look out the sliding glass door to see what is going on.
- He loves to go for walks.
- Hates to take medicine, have his teeth brushed, boogies taken out of his nose, basically anything that requires you to hold him down a bit.
- Ryker is very independent and definitely wants it to be his way.
- He can already throw a tantrum.
- He hates to have socks or shoes on. If you have socks on him they will off in two seconds.
- He can do the clapping and rolling motion to “Patty Cake” but will not do it when mommy is trying to video tape.
- His favorite part of the day is when his daddy walks through the door.
- He loves to take a bath.
- His favorite room in the house is the kitchen. I think he likes the way the linoleum sounds when he crawls/walks on it.
- He loves to play with any truck especially his new "Chuck the Talking Truck".
- Ryker still wears a #3 diaper.
- Ryker has 9 teeth all together (4 top, 4 bottom and one bigger tooth on the bottom left side).

I am sure I could go on and on but I just wanted to cover the basics!
I know I say it over and over but we are truly blessed to have this little man in our lives!

4 years old?

Dear Ryker, How in the world are you 4 years old? I remember your Daddy handing me this tiny precious lovie like it was yesterday. I don't care how old or big you get you will ALWAYS be my baby, my first born that taught me so much. I never knew true, pure, deep love until I had you! This has been a BIG year for you.... you are FINALLY "poop" potty trained. Oh my Ryker I cannot believe how INCREDIBLY hard you were to potty train. Although we still have some pee accidents all in all you do great, I think you are just to on the go to take the time out from playing. You started preschool and you love it! Your best friends are Cash and Beckham (Bear). Some mornings you do not want to go and whine that you want me to go with you but you always go and come back home with the biggest smile and tell me how much fun you had. You are learning so much and it amazes me, I will listen and watch you play or watch a tv cartoon and you can usually answer all the questions correctl...

Happy MOTHER'S Day!

I LOVE Mother's Day. I love being a Mommy.... Ryker is truly the BEST thing that has ever happened to me and I am so extremely blessed that he is my baby! I woke up to Ryker saying "Happy Mom" and Chris and Ryker making me breakfast. I got a hand made card from Chris and Ryker and it melted my heart and made me cry like a baby. Chris and I talked before Mother's day and I asked him not to get me any gifts which he was disappointed in but we are in the process for buying a toy hauler and I wanted to make sure that was cut and dried before spending any money. Chris wanted to get me and promised me a seat to go on the back of my four-wheeler.... he spoils me! I love my two lovies so very much! Thank you for making my day so incredibly SPECIAL! I cherish every moment I have with the two men in my life! I've been called a lot of things in my life, but my favorite of all is Mommy! As Dora and I went the cemetery yesterday to decorate Mom's and Grandma'...

My poor baby boy

Ryker had a few bumps on his back that I noticed on Sunday. I figured it was his sensitive skin from us out camping and from me not putting an lotion on him. I hate to put lotion on him when we are camping because I feel like all the dust sticks to him and makes him even more dirty. Anyways on Monday he was so whiny and running a fever so we packed up and came home. Ryker struggled with the fever all night M onday and even actually slept with Chris and I which has never happened. I figured the fever was from two more of his teeth coming through. Anyway Tuesday when he woke up Ryker was normal again happy as can be so we went about our day. Well Wednesday I needed to go to work so I packed Ryker up to take him to Grandma Irene and I was telling her about these bumps on his legs that you could feel but barley see and she said her other granddaughter gets bumps all the time and it's no big deal. She agreed it was probable from camping and his sensitive skin. When Chris brought ...
