Billboard for the "SWINE FLU"............. LOL

Memorial Weekend/Knolls

We headed out to Knolls on Friday morning for a weekend of camping. Everyone had a good time hanging out, relaxing, roasting marsh mellows, riding and playing in the sand My little family! Hanging out in the trailer Your funny mommy! Chilling with my Grandma Oh what fun!

I really need to teach him some table manners.....

Look at those little piggies he is resting on the table. Ryker sure likes to kick back & relax! Go figure my babe loves to eat refried beans. He is such a weird eater but at least he is liking something.

He is growing up too fast...

Yesterday Ryker was being such a beast all day long and was sleeping quite a bit. It was so strange that I thought maybe he was getting sick again. Later on that evening Grandma Aleta came over to visit and she was feeling around in Ryker's mouth and guess what? He had his first little tooth cut through. No wonder he was being such a bear! Oh our little man is getting so big. He does not like the way the tooth feels because he keeps rubbing it with his tongue and then gets upset. Poor guy!

Last week was CrAzY!

We are still trying to recoup from an exhausting, scary, annoying, painful week from hell. Here is the run down- Monday morning- Ryker woke up throwing up and keep it up for almost 2 hours. So I ran him up to the urgent care in Tooele . We left there with just the reassurance everything is okay and he must have a little bug. Tuesday- Ryker started to cough a bit but basically the day was UNEVENTFUL- yeah! Wednesday- Ryker had his 6 month well visit. He got 3 shots and one oral vaccination. By 7:00 p.m. he was running a high fever but that is common with shots so we kept Tylenol in him throughout the night. Thursday- By 2:00 a.m. mommy was freaking out about his temperature of 102.3 so we took him to the ER. I did not know he could have Motrin so they gave him a dose to reduce the fever and ran some flu and RSV tests. Everything came back negative but the ER doctor gave us a prescription for some antibiotics for an ear infection and the cough he had. Friday- The ER doctor insiste...

Ear marking & branding calves 2009

On Saturday we did the annual ear marking & branding calves. We had a lot of help from family & friends. Ryker really enjoyed himself being outside and watching all the commotion. We still are not done yet but next Saturday we will finish up for the year- yeah! Some of the boys! Ryker was just chilling in stroller watching all the fun. Grandpa cannot wait for him to bigger so he can pull his weight and help! lol My daddy and Chris getting after it. Even my 86 year old Grandpa gets in on the action. Our brand "31" & Ryker's future racing number. It's tuff work not to let them cows get out. The kiddies and some wives hanging out making lunch for the men. Look at those BEAUTIFUL blue eyes! Briggs helping out with the calves Poor little calves they had a hard day Some of the calves Briggs & Chris This is " Pinky "! Ryker was just in love with this little piggy. He laughed and giggles at him as Pinky snorted and squealed . lol ...

Oh Briggs....

I watched Briggs (my nephew) today which I just love. The little boy always has me laughing with his funny questions and gestures . He is just to cute. Here is how one of conversations went this morning.... I was in my bedroom getting dressed for the day and Briggs was on the bed playing with Ryker . Briggs- "Emmie you have baby marks!" Me- I could not understand what he said, "What?" Briggs- As he points at my belly, "See right there you have baby marks, Emmie." Me- "Yep those are from baby Ryker , huh?" Briggs- "Yeah but it's okay he is cute and you wear shirts." I laughed about that for quite a long time. He wanted to point out my stretch marks but he also wanted to let me know it's okay as long as I cover them up! Hee hee ! I just love my little Briggs!

6 month check-up/NIGHTMARE!

Yesterday we took Ryker to the pediatrician for his 6 month check-up. Wow has the time flown by. Our little man is getting so big! Here are his stats: 14 2.5 pounds (7 th %) 25 1/4 length (20 th %) 14 2.5 head circumference (18 th %) Dr. Jenkins said he is just a little guy but gaining correctly so there is no need to worry about the percentages. That is a relief! At this appointment Ryker had to have one oral vaccine and 3 shots. Well three hours after the appointment Ryker spiked a fever and was just miserable. I know that is a side effect of the vaccines so I just kept Tylenol in him. Later on into the night he was just not himself and wanted to be held which is unusual because he is excellent about going to sleep in his crib. Well about three in the morning mommy and daddy could not take anymore and his temperature would not go down so we rushed him to the er. Three and half hours later they gave him some antibiotics for an ear infection and got his temperature under control...

Oh my little Ryker....

We gave Ryker a cup with juice in for the first time and he thought it was so much fun playing with the cup. He liked the juice once he got a taste but is not quite sure about putting the sippy cup in his mouth. It is much more fun to play with it- duh! As you know in my prior posts Ryker is NOT the best eater whatsoever but the other day Chris was eating black licorice (YUCK) and Ryker really wanted what he had. So Chris gave him a piece and he loved sucking on it that it completely wore him out but notice he is not letting go of the piece of licorice. What a mess he made! I just cannot believe he likes to suck on black licorice rather than eat all the yummy fruits I have been giving him. He sure is his daddy's boy!

6 month pictures

He is such a happy baby that he takes photo's so well. Happy 1/2 year birthday " Toota Woota "! Things Ryker does at 6 months: Play & suck on his feet Laugh & giggle Sitting up (still with a little help) Hear his voice making screams and "talking" He loves to be outside Rolling over and over He LOVES ice cream if you can get it in his mouth with the spoon- hee hee Playing with his toys especially the ones that sing and make sounds We just love our little man, he is such a blessing to our family!
