Thankful Thursday!

I am so grateful and blessed to have such a wonderful husband. He is always there for me and our son. He is a fantastic father! I love to watch him talk to, play with and take care of Ryker . Chris is my best friend and I know I can turn to him for anything. He works very hard everyday to provide for us so I can stay at home part-time with our little man. I am truly thankful to have a healthy, handsome boy that we can raise to be a great individual, son, friend, husband and father. I never realized that I could love someone so much! Ryker amazes me and he just melts my heart. It's such a blessing to watch him learn new things everyday and to be able to provide him a happy home. Our family and friends that are so supportive to all of us. We would not know what to do without each and every one of you. Ryker gets so spoiled by all his Grandma's- Grandma Roberts, Grandma McCabe, Grandma Aleta, Grandma Patty and Grandpa's too! I am also thankful to have such a great family fr...

This mommy is bragging!

So I have to brag a little about Ryker . When we first brought him home from the hospital it was a bit of struggle to put him to sleep at night. The first couple nights were basically "HELL"! We decided he hated his bassinet , being swaddled, etc. So after a few exhausting nights we figured the play pen/ bassinet was better, mommy had to change to daddy's side of the bed because the vent blowing was bothering him and he needed his arms free from any blankets. It was then easy sailing although the first time we would put him down for bed was still a struggle. He would fuss so Chris or I would pick him up and rock him a bit. It would take about two to three tries before he would really go down for good. We still thought this was fantastic because he has only ever gotten up twice a night. Well the past three weeks Ryker has been AWESOME at going to bed. We still do our normal routine of a bath, massaging/ lotion and feeding but sometimes he is still awake and it's ti...

He knows how to get his way....

Gee I never realized that we learn at such a young age how to get our way. This little man of mine has learned that all he needs to do is frown and put out that bottom lip to melt his mommy's heart and get what he wants. I just love him so much!

Ryker's Blessing

Ryker was blessed last Friday night by his Great Uncle Mike. It was a special day especially for his Grandma Aleta. She told us that all she wanted for her birthday was for Ryker to be blessed on that day so that is exactly what she got. We also had Ryker's Great Grandpa Roberts, Great Grandpa Lyn, Clayton (cousin- Mike's son), Bill (family friend) and Bishop Imaly stand in the circle. We had lots of our family attend the blessing which made it very special. After it was over some of us met up at Casa Del Rey to have a little dinner. Although Ryker was quite fussy through out the whole blessing I just wanted to thank everyone who attended and made the day special. Happy Birthday Grandma Aleta!

Holidays 2008

I was downloading my pictures to my computer today and realized just how cute my Holiday pictures of Ryker were so I wanted to share them all with you.... Ryker's first Thanksgiving. What a great day to reflect just how thankful we are to have him! Ryker visiting with Santa! Ryker dressed up to go visit all the family on Christmas Eve. He is our little present from Santa! FYI- Chris made fun of me all night for dressing his son in this outfit but I thought it was too cute! Ryker's first Christmas. He was really spoiled by Santa, family & friends. Our little man in his Christmas outfit!

No more hunting with daddy......

Here is how our Sunday morning went- Chris decided he could not sleep anymore and Ryker was stirring quite a bit so next thing I know Chris is taking Ryker and they are going coyote hunting. I was thrilled to get to sleep in a bit since that has been non-existent since Ryker joined our home. No, Chris is not backpacking around with a 10 week old- hee hee ! He just rides around and looks for tracts but he does not get out of the truck unless he sees one to shoot. So after I woke up I called Chris to see how my boys were doing and this is how it went... Me- "How are you guys? Is Ryker being good?" Chris- "Yeah he is being GREAT." Me- Why are you acting funny?" Chris- "No reason." Me- with panic in my voice, "What is wrong?" Chris- "Well the truck is stuck but Justin is already on his way up to get us out, don't worry!" Yes I was freaking out but everything turned out fine. Ryker was warm and snug in the truck and daddy was ...

Ryker's 2 month check-up 1/9/09

Here is little Ryker's measurements- 10 pounds 1.5 ounces 22 3/4 inches long 15 1/4 inches head circumference He is growing big especially considering that he was a little one when he was born. Ryker is smiling and making all sorts of sounds. He eats anywhere between 3 1/2 to 5 ounces in one sitting and usually only gets up twice a night. He is a smart little boy that loves to look around and take everything in. One of his favorite toys is his bouncer that vibrates. He also loves to be naked... whenever he is fussy and I cannot make him happy I get him on the floor with a fuzzy blanket and strip him down to nothing. He gets happy fast once he is naked but we do occasionally get peed ( lol ). I only have on complaint about the check-up and that would be the shots. No one warned me that it would make my little man so unhappy. Thank goodness we had his appointment on a Friday because Saturday he was a NIGHTMARE and I am not exaggerating . He was sore, irritable and just plain u...

The Allen Family has arrived!

Well I have finally done it and started our own family blog. I have kept up with so many people's blogs over the past little while that I decided to join the fun! I find it so interesting to read and learn about people. I also thought it would be a great way to document/journal about our little man Ryker . Here is a little about us, Chris and I have been married for 5 years but have been together for almost 9 years. Wow that sounds like such a long time but it does not feel it. I guess its true that time flies when you are having fun! We had our first baby on Halloween of 2008, Ryker . He is a handsome little boy that weighed in at 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 18 inches long. We love being new parents and we have enjoyed having a new addition to our family. We waited until we were good and ready to start a family and I am so glad we did. It has given me the option to be able to be at home with our little man. Although I do work 10 days a month at our family business doing the bookkeep...
